Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity Mission Statement

As Christian servant-leaders, provide and promote:

Simple, affordable, decent housing.

An environment of empowerment, stability,
learning, and success for at-risk families.

Community through partnering with
advocates, gifters, and volunteers of all faiths.

Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, house building, homeownership Christian ministry in the greater Holland area. It is based on the principle that all God's people deserve a decent place to live and that our community is a better place when that occurs.

We serve families in western Michigan north to M-45, east to Hudsonville, south to the city of Allegan, and west to the shores of Lake Michigan.

We will have served 101 families, building 101 homes by the end of 2009, bettering the lives of hundreds of children in the area.
We serve the greater Holland, Michigan area: north to M-45, south through Allegan, east through Hudsonville, west to Lake Michigan.
Homeowner-Partners are selected based on need, ability to pay and willingness to partner.
Homes are sold to Homeowner-Partners at no profit with no-interest loans.
Homeowner-Partners must complete 250 to 500 sweat equity hours on their own home and other Habitat projects.
90% of our funding is provided by tax deductible-donations, either monetary or in-kind, from foundations, individuals, churches, corporations and others.
All homes are built in partnership with volunteers, Homeowner-Partners and Sponsor-Partners.
Twelve dedicated community members serve as our Board of Directors.
We have been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International since November 1990.
