Beatriz
Lopez and her three children; Blanca (18), Juan (16),
and Claudia (13) are excited to be Homeowner Partners
with Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity. Although the family
works to take great care of their current rental home,
the house is too small for the family and has structural,
plumbing, and electrical concerns. A new safe house
to call their own will be a dream come true for this
family.
Beatriz works at Birds Eye Foods
and her children study in college, high school and middle
school. The Lopez family is affiliated with San Felipe
de Jesus Catholic Church in Fennville. Beside attending
church, the family spends their time watching movies,
cooking and playing sports.
Illustrating a small portion of
the Lopez family's difficult past and their present
feelings toward Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity, Beatriz
expresses that "My children and I have lived a hard
life. My children would like to have their own house,
the freedom in their own room and the space for our
family to feel good…We also pray for more people like
[Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity] that take the time
to help people's dreams come true."
