Muhammed & family

Updated: Oct 28

Muhammad, his wife, Razia, and their children (11, 8, 8, 4 & 2 years old) are partnering with Lakeshore Habitat to build a forever home!

Since immigrating from Afghanistan in 2016, it’s been a struggle to find adequate housing, as they currently live in a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment. Muhammad continues to work hard at his first job in the U.S. at D&W to provide for his family, earning the SpartanNash Circle of Excellence Award in 2022.

Muhammed shares, “I’m so thankful to be part of the Homeownership Program with Lakeshore Habitat. Thank you to the entire team of staff, volunteers and community who are helping make this happen and taking care of families in need. Finding affordable housing has been a challenge, and within 7 years we have moved 4 times with high rent and living costs. Now, finally, we can say to our kids, ‘It’s our own home!’ We are more than excited to find this affordable, safe place for our kids where they will grow up. It’s just the starting place of love, hope and dreams for our family.”
